and in a white sea of eyes, i see one pair that i recognize

There are so many different kinds of love out there.  One of my very, very favorites is the kind that feels like home...the kind where you just know the couple have been best friends for ages and the love flows so easily between them.  Fortunately, Heather and Brian share this kind of love.  It's just so honest and real.  It makes you want to be a part of it...wish you were a part of it...want to have a part of that in your own life.  It's the kind that just makes everyone around you smile.

When Heather and Brian first started talking with me as to where to have their session, we were tossing around ideas more downtown (as they were coming in from Davenport, IA) and then the plans shifted to some of the more natural spreads of scenery in northwestern Illinois.  Although it's not a far cry from their hometown, the setting was adorably suited for their easy-going nature.  I just loved this afternoon with them and am very much looking forward to their wedding next September!

the nearer your destination

Oh goodness.  REALLY.  It's quite unbelievable how some weeks (definitely plural, in my case) can turn your life absolutely on its head.  I've experienced quite the range of culprits in my day, some absolutely tragic and others positively life-changing.  This time around, it was those crazy little Janie & Jack sessions that did me in.  They were fabulous--do not get me wrong for a second.  I hope many of the new families I have met are reading this, as they were such lovely Chicagoans to immerse myself in.  But the thirty-plus families multiplied by hundreds and hundreds of photos and divided by seven days to prepare them?  It was madness on my part.  I definitely have to thank my husband for being so incredibly amazing.  He helped keep our little ship afloat while I was at J&J or hunkered down in front of the computer and made sure our little guy didn't wither away and that he wore clean clothes.  I'm so lucky to have married a man who can give me such peace of mind.  And I definitely have to thank all of my clients, whose infinite patience made this whole stretch not quite as panicking as it could have been.  I know my correspondence and blog posts as of late were a bit lacking, and I cannot wait to rectify that.

So, truly, this post is to say THANK YOU.  I really am the luckiest gal to work with such fine folks as you.  ♥

And I must credit my dear friend, Jen, as well...her teas always render things soothingly rightside-up.

you're ever welcome with me any time you like

I'm in between sessions on a beautiful October afternoon.  Just spent the morning with a total delight of a family and their two gorgeous little girls and had to share...  When I think of the phrase "sisterly love", well, this moment just fits perfectly.

They just enjoy each other's company so.  :)  Don't worry, Mama.  There are surely more to come.

wait for the season to come back to me

I am truly thankful to be finding such lovely couples and families to work with this fall and these sessions have been keeping me on my toes!  I've also had the chance to collaborate with Precious Time Photography and their promotional sessions for the delectable children's clothing store, Janie & Jack this past week.  Despite the nuttiness of my current schedule, I'm loving every moment of it.

Just a few teasers...
